Autumn is definitely on its way and while I’m sad that the warmer weather and sunshine we get (or at least hope for) will soon be forgotten, one thing I won’t forget is how marvellous this summer’s wedding photography season has been.
It’s not often that I sit down and take the time to reflect on my work, mainly because I have been so jam-packed recently, but I really have been lucky this spring/ summer to work with some amazing people. In fact, I’ve been really spoilt this year as each wedding I have photographed has been different, allowing me to stretch my skills, try new techniques, experience new places and rise to some real challenges.
Perhaps my biggest challenge this year was Edd and Paula’s wedding at the Casa Hotel in Yateley, only because it rained all day. And when I say it rained, it really rained. Usually there are breaks in the day where you can sneak off for a few couple type shots but that wasn’t the case here, at times it felt like a monsoon had landed in Hampshire!
However, I’m not one to give up and I refused to let Mother Nature ruin our chances of some special wedding photographs. While I was pleased with the results, I was more pleased that Paula and Edd loved their special photos, commenting:
“Unfortunately it rained (a lot!) but that didn’t phase Danny he cracked on taking any opportunity he could to get those memorable shots for us, he was up against rain, small venue inside with a lot of people yet he worked with it and came out on top and in the end we embraced the rain and got some beautiful photos outside.
“Danny has such calmness about him which is what every bride needs! With His non-intrusive approach and happy go lucky self is spot on! I had a lot of people complementing Danny on our wedding day saying how lovely he is, so for my nearest and dearest to say that he definitely gets my vote!
“He goes above and beyond and stayed later than he needed too, which I thought was a lovely touch, and his attention to detail is perfect.”
