I usually call it engagement photography but for some reason with my latest shoot it seems more appropriate to call it pre-wedding photography instead…. and what a pre-wedding photography shoot it was at the beautiful venue of Gorse Hill.

An elegant mansion house nestled in the beautiful Surrey countryside – Gorse Hill really does provide an amazing backdrop. From the pre-wedding shoot I can see why Linda and Adam picked this gorgeous venue for their big day later this summer.

Gorse Hill’s grounds are perfectly manicured, but what gives the venue its wow factor is the charming white-washed Edwardian house. I’m already looking forward to shooting against it when Linda and Adam tie the knot.

For their pre-wedding shoot we had a stroll round the Gorse Hill’s grounds before taking some photographs to document this important step in their history together – the last few remaining weeks before they finally say: ‘I do!’

Feeling humbled

It’s such an exciting time in a couple’s life together, the excitement, the planning, the anticipation of the big day. It was so wonderfully charming to see both Linda and Adam gush about their forthcoming nuptials; I certainly felt emotional for them.  I also felt incredibly humbled that they picked me to document their special day. That feeling never gets old!

What’s interesting about Linda and Adam is that neither of them have been to many weddings before. In fact Linda’s own wedding will be the first wedding she’s ever been too. How amazing is that!

With that in mind I fully expected them to be a little nervous in front of the camera, but once we got going the love between the couple outshone any nerves soon disappeared.

We certainly made the most of the warm spring air by doing all of the pre-wedding shoot outdoors. It was great to be outside shooting again after a drawn out winter, which naturally lends itself to indoor shoots. I hope the weather is as kind to us on the big day itself.

The wedding countdown is most definitely now on…
